Who am I?

My name is Sophia Massad, my musical career started when I began studying Ease of Speech technique in 2009. I grew up around a very musical family, and I was exposed to the world of music at a young age, and so I have always known I wanted to pursue a career in music. I began performing at the age of twelve at various venues such as the Oklahoma Centennial Rodeo Opry, American Kids Inc, among other such as festivals, coffee shops, fairs, and more. I have been a member of many bands including the Groove Merchants, Replay, The So Help Me’s and Urban Addiction. As a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist today, I have the privilege of having my own project

What have I done?

After my first single release in 2013, I continued to develop as an independent artist and released my freshman EP, as the writer and co-producer, also playing piano, guitar, and ukulele and of course, the singer on the project. Since 2013, I have been releasing and performing original music. Most recently, in the summer of 2018, I released singles titled “Insecurities” “Alone at Night” and “Come Back Home.” which are all available on Spotify, iTunes, etc.

Why did I choose Speech Level Singing?

I thought I could just sing like Beyonce, but it always hurt after I sang. While I struggled a lot with pitch, breath control, vibrato, I also suffered from severe allergies and was often sick, therefore unable to sing well during the spring and fall. After starting to execute the technique, I began to understand more about my health and how to sing while working through illness. Learning to sing with ease has allowed me to increase my range, control and understand my voice on a deeper level, which consequently has given me not only the ability to sing confidently and comfortably in a safe place at all times, but also the flexibility to grow in my own personal art and performance.

Why did I choose to become a Speech Level Singing coach?

I always wanted to be the singer, not the teacher, but as I began to understand and feel the change and power that Speech Level Singing has given me, I have wanted to scream it from the rooftops! I want everybody to know about this incredible and simple technique, it allows you to sing everything you have ever wanted to sing, and makes it comfortable and enjoyable. I can now sing for six hours straight and never feel any vocal fatigue or exhaust. The technique has made singing easy, fun, and an overall empowering experience for me, which has created the passion I now have for sharing it with others. My goal as a coach is to help vocalists alleviate vocal struggles, strengthen their control, widen their range and grow in their own journey, by passing along the life-changing knowledge that has impacted my life in such a positive way!
